Showreel

00 showreel

01 kitchen

My goal here was to showcase as much detail as possible – with a focus on lighting, and proper scale to produce a photorealistic render of a farmhouse-style kitchen.

All models were created in Autodesk Maya, textured in Substance Painter, and rendered with Redshift.

02 barbie beachside

A glimpse into the life of malibu barbie!
I wanted to create a scene  that was vibrant and fun and decided to draw inspiration from 90's barbie accessories.

Modelling and fur (XGen) created in Maya, textures in Substance Painter and Photoshop and rendered with Redshift.

Compositing in Nuke.

03 balter

During lockdown, I found a love of craft beer and was inspired to undertake a VFX project to keep myself occupied.

I used Autodesk Maya to model and animate,  Photoshop and Substance Painter for texturing, and Renderman as my render engine.

Compositing and editing were done in Foundry Nuke.

04 casio

I wore this exact Casio watch for fifteen years, only recently giving it up for something smarter. They really last forever. So I thought I would create a little project to honor it.

The watch was modeled and animated in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, and rendered with Pixar Renderman.

Backplates and HDRI were captured at my sister's house using a Canon and Ricoh 360. Tracking and compositing were completed in Foundry Nuke.

05 conch shell photogrammetry

This project was my first foray into Photogrammetry, and my first out of University.

I used Meshlab to generate the 3D model and then cleaned up the topology in Maya and Zbrush.
Textures were fixed up and enhanced using Substance Painter and Photoshop.

Rendered using Renderman.

06 unworthy objects

Lemon, WINNER, in Fruit Salad Category.

Fairy Detergent, WINNER in Mythical Creature Category.

Super Talking Barbie Answering Machine

Winner in Professional Office Phone Category

If you would like to read an acceptance speech written by a lemon, you can find it on Instagram @unworthyobjects.

This project is a series of inanimate objects that find themselves winning first place in unusual categories.

All scenes were created in Autodesk Maya, textured in Photoshop and Substance Painter, and rendered with Redshift.

07 tohatsu engine

Below is a study of my friend's motorboat.
I used Maya for modelling,  and created textures using Substance Painter and Photoshop.

The ocean was created with BiFrost Fluids in Maya and then the scene was rendered using Renderman.

08 strawberries & cream

The project below was an opportunity to play around with organic modeling, subsurface scattering, and XGEN.

I sculpted the strawberries and cream in ZBrush and modeled the background assets in Maya.

All textures were created in Substance Painter and Photoshop, and rendered with Renderman.

09 warehouse furniture

I decided to recreate product photography and took inspiration from contemporary furniture websites.

This project gave me the opportunity to explore different shapes, and textures, as well as focussing on lighting and real-world shaders.

All models were created in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, and rendered with Redshift.

10 diptyque room spray

A product visualization of Diptyque interior scents. My main focus in this production was lighting, in order to create a realistic result.

I used multiple area lights, to create rim lighting on the bottles and stands as well as area lights with texture maps for an interesting stippled effect across the backdrop and labels.
Emission was also used to create an edge light on the stands.

All models were created in Maya, textured using Photoshop, and rendered with Redshift.
